Job summary

Dis-Chem Pharmacies in Southgate is seeking a Casual Cashier to support customer service at the point of sale and ensure a world-class shopping experience. You will record transactions on the Dis-Chem operating system, process payments, and uphold SOPs to prevent inaccuracies and fraud.

Daily duties include handling cash and card transactions, processing loyalty cards, and maintaining till accuracy while assisting customers with promotions and store merchandise.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 / Matric is required.
• At least 6 months cashier/till experience.
• Computer literate – MS Office.
• Strong numerical skills.
• Fluent English (written and spoken).
• Basic customer service experience.
• Willing and able to work retail hours.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Dis-Chem’s customer service policies and procedures.
• Establish a professional relationship with customers.
• Record customer transactions and process payments according to SOPs.
• Process loyalty cards for customers.
• Ensure cash is securely managed and dropped per SOPs.
• Maintain accuracy and report any discrepancies to management.
• Assist in promotions and product inquiries.
• Ensure till integrity and price accuracy.
• Address customer questions about merchandise.
