Job summary

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is building a casual cashier talent pool for our Sunninghill stores to support customer service at the point of sale and to record transactions in the Dis-Chem operating system according to company policies and SOPs.

Ideal candidates have a Grade 12/Matric, at least 6 months cashier/till experience, basic MS Office skills, strong numerical abilities and a good command of English. Availability to work retail hours is essential to join this team.

Qualifications

• Grade 12/Matric required.
• At least 6 months’ cashier/till experience.
• Computer literate with MS Office.
• Strong numerical skills.
• Good command of English and basic customer service.
• Willing and able to work retail hours.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Dis-Chem’s customer service policies and procedures.
• Establish a professional relationship with customers.
• Report customer feedback to Frontline Supervisor or store management.
• Adhere to the customer turnover hourly rate.
• Be aware of current sales and promotions.
• Ensure colleagues and customers are not exposed to any risk.
• Carry out and manage Dis-Chem 5 star communication principles.
• Be responsible for cash flow.
• Ensure all line voids and price changes are approved and signed off by the supervisor.
• Exchange merchandise for customers and accept returns when authorised.
• Transact all purchases – receive and process all payments accepted by Dis-Chem.
• Process all loyalty cards including partner programs.
• Ensure cash is placed in drop safe according to SOPs.
• Ensure code/password security is maintained.
• Ensure all outgoing stock/items/scripts are scanned and paid for.
• Cash kept safely in till.
• Handle daily takings confidentially and report to management.
• Report suspicious behaviour to management.
• Address queries regarding store merchandise.
• Adhere to security policies and procedures.
