Job summary

Dis-Chem Pharmacies requires an experienced Cashier for the Blue Route Mall store in Cape Town. Support customer service at the point of sale while ensuring a world-class shopping experience.

Record customer transactions on the Dis-Chem system according to company policies, maintain till accuracy, and handle all payments (cash, bank cards, vouchers, loyalty). The role demands Grade 12/Matric and at least 6 months cashier experience, with strong English and basic customer service skills.

Qualifications

• Grade 12/Matric with at least 6 months cashier experience.
• Computer literate with MS Office and strong numerical ability.
• Excellent English communication and basic customer service skills.
• Willing to work retail hours.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Dis-Chem customer service policies and procedures.
• Establish a professional relationship with customers.
• Process all transactions (cash, card, vouchers, loyalty) as per SOP.
• Maintain till accuracy and report discrepancies to management.
• Be aware of current sales and promotions and assist customers accordingly.
• Ensure cash is securely handled and dropped as per SOPs.
• Exchange merchandise when authorised and process returns.
• Handle daily takings confidentially and report to management.
