Job summary

Dis-Chem Pharmacies Limited is seeking a Casual Cashier for our La Lucia store to support customer service at the point of sale and maintain a world-class shopping experience. You will record transactions, handle payments, and follow company policies to minimize fraud and inaccuracies.

Essential requirements include a Grade 12, at least 6 months cashier experience, MS Office literacy, good numerical ability, and a customer-focused approach. Willingness to work retail hours is expected.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 / Matric is required.
• At least 6 months’ cashier/till operations experience.
• Computer literate – MS Office.
• Sound numerical skills and accuracy.
• Strong command of the English language.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Dis-Chem customer service policies and procedures.
• Establish a professional relationship with customers.
• Record transactions accurately and report discrepancies.
• Manage cash flow and handle daily takings confidentially.
• Process payments (cash, cards, vouchers, etc.) and loyalty cards.
• Ensure till and price changes are approved by supervision.
• Maintain cash drawers and operate registers correctly.
• Identify and report suspicious activity to management.
