Placements24 is seeking a skilled Project Manager to oversee IT infrastructure projects in Cape Town, Western Cape. The role covers the full lifecycle from initiation to closure, delivering high-quality IT solutions on time and within budget.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in IT project management, strong stakeholder management, and expertise in networks, servers, storage, virtualization, and cloud technologies (AWS/Azure/GCP). Proficiency with MS Project and Jira is desired.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT, CS, Engineering or related field.
• Master's degree or PMP is a plus.
• Minimum 5 years' IT project management experience focused on infrastructure.
• Proven track record delivering IT infra projects on time and budget.
• Strong understanding of networks, servers, storage, virtualization, and cloud tech.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage IT infrastructure projects, including network upgrades, data center migrations, cloud deployments, and hardware refreshes.
• Develop comprehensive project plans, defining scope, goals, deliverables, timelines, resources, and budgets.
• Effectively communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders at all levels, including senior management.
• Manage project teams, ensuring clear roles, responsibilities, and effective collaboration.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and dependencies.
• Oversee procurement of hardware, software, and external vendor services required for projects.
• Ensure all projects adhere to established IT governance, security policies, and industry best practices.
• Monitor project progress, identify deviations from the plan, and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Facilitate project closure activities, including lessons learned documentation and post-implementation reviews.
• Manage vendor relationships and performance to ensure successful project outcomes.
