Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dynamic Lead Project Manager to drive transformative technology initiatives from our Cape Town headquarters. You will lead a dedicated team, shape strategy, and ensure delivery of complex IT projects with quality and efficiency.

This senior role requires a proven track record in software development, system integration, and digital transformation, plus strong Agile/Scrum expertise and PMP certification.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in project management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing technology projects.
• Proven success delivering complex IT projects including software development, system integrations, and digital transformation.
• Strong understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies, with experience in hybrid environments.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; PMP or equivalent certification is essential.
• Proven ability to manage stakeholder expectations and build strong relationships across different organizational levels in Cape Town.

Responsibilities

• Define project scope, goals, deliverables, and success criteria in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
• Develop and manage detailed project schedules, resource plans, and budgets for technology-driven projects.
• Lead and mentor a team of project managers and project coordinators, fostering their professional growth and ensuring effective team dynamics.
• Implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve agreed outputs.
• Proactively identify and address project risks, issues, and dependencies, developing mitigation strategies.
• Communicate project status, updates, and potential challenges effectively to all relevant parties, including executive leadership.
