Job summary

Higher Health seeks a dedicated professional to support recruitment and supervision of peer mentors and educators across campuses, while overseeing psychosocial support services. You will coordinate the civic wellness curriculum, link students to health services, and manage stakeholder relations.

You will also drive data collection, reporting, and communications to promote Higher Health programmes within the tertiary sector, including TVETs and CETs. On-site work in Cape Town is required.

Qualifications

• Matric and a relevant degree in Social Work or Social Science required.
• Experience in case management and report writing is preferred.
• Knowledge of higher education sector and stakeholder engagement is advantageous.

1. Support the CCW with Recruitment and supervision of Peer mentors and Peer educators

• Support the CCW with recruit of peer mentors and peer educators for all campuses, main centres, and satellite institutions.
  
• Train peer CCW on HIGHER HEALTH 10 focus areas.
  
• Supervise and manage the performance of peer mentors and peer educators at the institutional level
  
• Provide psychosocial support services for promoting holistic development and crisis intervention especially those with vulnerable circumstances.
  

2. Oversee the social support services at campuses as well as linkage to Psychosocial support services.

• Train the CCW to analyse all risk screening forms and ensure referral and successful linkages of students to the relevant health and wellness services.
  
• Ensure the CCW follow up on referrals to internal and external stakeholders.
  
• Support the CCW with establish and develop referral stakeholder relationships alongside, and with the support of line managers.
  
• Support CCW with establish and develop on-campus small support groups/cells.
  
• Provide psychosocial support services for promoting holistic development and crisis intervention especially those with vulnerable circumstances.
  

3. Oversee the coordination and mentorship to learners on the civic and wellness skills programme at Campuses level.

• Coordinate all HIGHER HEALTH programmes in collaboration with the institution (TVETs &CETs), that will be: - First Things First Activations, Awareness Campaigns, 2nd Curriculum/ Dialogues with, scheduled routine visits by Mobile Fleets (HIGHER HEALTH, DOH and other stakeholders).
  
• Ensure meetings are scheduled meetings with management in CETs and TVETs to present progress reports.
  
• Supervise and manage the control the roll-out of incentives.
  
• Support CCCW to manage logistics around the implementation of programmes e.g. venues, catering, equipment, parking, catering, posters, and communication.
  
• Supervise and Support CCCW in managing Peer Mentors and Peer educators in planning and implementing the 2nd Curriculum / Dialogues with the institution.
  
• Train the CCW in Facilitating the 2nd Curriculum Dialogues covering all the HIGHER HEALTH focus areas.
  

4. Stakeholders Management and Sectoral Coordination

• Oversee the coordination of stakeholders attending HIGHER HEALTH programmes within the institution.
  
• Attend and Present in the Campus Management Team (CMTs) and College Senior Management Teams (SMTs)
  
• Attend Student Representative Leadership Training.
  
• Attend and present in the Local AIDS Councils and Districts AIDS Council.
  
• Attend and present at the student support service meeting.
  
• Attend and present at the district partner's meetings.
  
• Support the coordination and mentorship to learners on the civic and wellness skills programme at Campuses level.
  
• Supervise recruitment of learners into the Higher Health NQF level 5 online civic and wellness skills programme
  

5. Data Collection & Reporting

• Oversee the collection, cleaning, collation, verification and reporting of data gathered from all HIGHER HEALTH programmes.
  
• Capacitate the CCW to manage and monitor stakeholders on data collection tools to be utilised for programme implementation.
  
• Support the PM with facilitating the signing of data sharing agreement with partners and stakeholders
  
• Oversee the collection of learner Data and provide weekly and monthly reports to the CCC
  

6. Communication, Advocacy, and Lobbying

• Oversee and support CCW with consistent and relevant HIGHER HEALTH communications with all local stakeholders.
  
• Support the CCW with lobbying for the support and adoption of HIGHER HEALTH programmes in all institutions through presentations of progress reports.
  
• Manage the visibility of HIGHER HEALTH’s branding and marketing material to support programme adoption and general awareness.
  
• Ensure smooth running of the orientation and induction programmes and support CCW with conducting presentations to students to identify challenges and ensure access to services.
  
• Represent HIGHER HEALTH on relevant external meetings e.g District AIDS Council, Technical
  
• Working Group, College Management and Centre Management Forums.
  
• Supervise dialogues and capacity building sessions for learners to ensure successful completion of the curriculum.
  

7. Administration

• Oversee filling of reports, minutes, registers, and data collection tools according to HIGHER HEALTH SOPs guidelines and protocols.
  
• Consolidate stock, suppliers, commodities, and record in the stock cards, as per the SOP.
  
• Support the PM with timeous submission of timesheets, monthly reports, claims and travel requests.
  
• Support CCW with taking personal responsibility for Institutional space/or facilities including adhering to TVET protocols on management of administrative offices.
  
• Sign and ensure and CCW also sign all HIGHER HEALTH policies and procedures
  
• Coordinate with the curriculum technical team to ensure that learners are able to access the learning management system.
