Job summary

The Green Recruitment Company is seeking a skilled C&I Project Developer to drive behind-the-meter renewable energy initiatives in South Africa, based in Cape Town or Johannesburg. You will engage with clients to tailor project solutions, lead feasibility analyses and maintain robust financial models for diverse clean energy technologies.

Qualifications

• Degree in a numerate discipline such as Engineering, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Science or a related field.
• 5+ years' professional experience, ideally in renewable energy, energy infrastructure or project development.
• Proven experience with behind-the-meter C&I energy projects is highly advantageous.
• Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills with ability to present data clearly.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, analytical mindset and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage behind-the-meter / C&I renewable energy projects including Solar PV, BESS and related tech.
• Work directly with clients to understand energy requirements and develop project solutions.
• Lead assessments, feasibility studies and quantitative analysis.
• Develop and maintain project financial models, budgets and commercial assessments.
• Report on financial and project performance metrics to clients and internal stakeholders.
• Support renewable energy strategies for industrial and commercial clients.
• Coordinate internal teams, consultants, contractors and other stakeholders.
• Manage timelines, deliverables, risks and commercial considerations.
• Prepare presentations, reports and recommendations for senior client stakeholders.
• Support projects through development, investment and delivery stages.
• Build long-term client relationships.
