Job summary

The Green Recruitment Company is seeking an experienced Project Developer in South Africa to drive behind-the-meter / C&I renewable energy projects. You will own assessments, finance models and client engagement from early stage through delivery, coordinating cross-functional teams and communicating with senior stakeholders.

The role requires a numerate degree, 5+ years in renewable energy or related fields, and strong Excel/PowerPoint capabilities to deliver robust commercial recommendations

Qualifications

• Degree in a numerate field (Engineering, Finance, Economics, Mathematics or related).
• 5+ years of professional experience in renewable energy, energy infrastructure, or project development.
• Proven experience with behind-the-meter / C&I energy projects is advantageous.
• Strong project financial modelling and commercial analysis skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and client presentation abilities.
• Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage behind-the-meter / C&I renewable energy projects (Solar PV, BESS, etc.).
• Work with clients to understand energy needs and craft project solutions.
• Lead project assessments, feasibility studies and quantitative analysis.
• Develop and maintain project financial models, budgets and commercial assessments.
• Report on financial and project performance metrics to clients and stakeholders.
• Coordinate internal teams, consultants and third-party stakeholders.
• Manage timelines, deliverables, risks and commercial considerations.
• Prepare high-quality presentations, reports and recommendations for senior clients.
• Support projects through development, investment and delivery stages.
• Build and maintain strong long-term client relationships.
