Job summary

The Green Recruitment Company is seeking a skilled C&I Project Developer to drive behind-the-meter renewable energy initiatives in South Africa, based in Cape Town or Johannesburg. Qualifications

• Degree in a numerate discipline such as Engineering, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Science or a related field.
• 5+ years' professional experience, ideally in renewable energy, energy infrastructure or project development.
• Proven experience with behind-the-meter C&I energy projects is highly advantageous.
• Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills with ability to present data clearly.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, analytical mindset and attention to detail.

C&I Project Developer | South Africa

Location: Cape Town or Johannesburg

An exciting opportunity is available with a growing renewable energy business developing and operating clean energy projects for some of South Africa’s largest industrial energy users.

We are looking for an experienced Project Developer with strong exposure to behind-the-meter / C&I renewable energy projects, who is comfortable operating at the intersection of project development, commercial analysis, financial modelling and client engagement.

This is a hands-on role for someone who can understand the technical and commercial fundamentals of an energy project, communicate confidently with stakeholders, and take ownership of projects from early-stage assessment through to delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

What we're looking for:

• Proven experience with C&I / behind-the-meter energy projects is highly advantageous
• Strong understanding of project financial modelling and commercial analysis
• Comfortable presenting financial and project information to clients and senior stakeholders
• Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to analyse complex information and translate it into clear, commercially relevant recommendations
• Highly organised, self-motivated and able to work independently
• Commercially minded with strong attention to detail and a problem-solving approach
