Owns the business process and business-analysis capability across Freight Forwarding / POM and eCommerce, ensuring that business needs are translated into scalable future-state processes, high-quality requirements and measurable business outcomes. The role partners with the Business Applications Manager to ensure business and technology change is delivered end-to-end.
Key Performance Areas
Business Process Strategy & Architecture
- Own the business process management framework and end-to-end process architecture.
- Define and govern current-state and future-state process design across functions.
- Identify opportunities for standardisation, simplification, automation and digitisation.
- Ensure process design supports customer outcomes, scalability and strategic objectives.
- Partner with KAMs and business owners to assess customer-specific requirements against standard processes, identifying opportunities for standardisation and escalating material deviations, risks or control implications.
- Recognise that customer-specific processes and SOPs remain accountable to the relevant KAM/business owner; Business Process owns process governance, standards and end-to-end process integrity rather than the customer or commercial commitment.
Process Performance & Continuous Improvement
- Establish process performance measures and improvement priorities.
- Identify inefficiencies, control gaps, bottlenecks and root causes.
- Maintain a prioritised continuous-improvement pipeline and track realised benefits.
- Identify, evaluate and prioritise process automation, workflow and RPA opportunities as part of the continuous-improvement roadmap.
- Assess material process variations using a Standardise -> Configure -> Customise -> Exception approach, with increasing levels of justification and governance for bespoke solutions.
- Ensure process and transformation priorities are reflected in the integrated business and applications roadmap, with business value, process dependencies and expected benefits clearly articulated.
- Support technology and automation business cases by defining the business problem, process impact, expected benefits and operational outcomes; the accountable business owner retains ownership of the business justification and benefits realisation.
Business Analysis Governance
- Own BA methodology, standards, templates and quality expectations.
- Ensure requirements are complete, traceable, approved and sufficiently clear before technical solutioning.
- Govern BA demand, prioritisation and capacity with the BA Team Leader.
Transformation, Change & Governance
- Lead business-side transformation and cross-functional process improvement.
- Ensure change considers process, people, customer, operational, risk and compliance impacts.
- Embed appropriate controls and governance into process design and approvals.
- Ensure every material process change has a clearly identified KAM/business owner and appropriate business sign-off before progressing into solution design or implementation.
- Establish traceability between customer commitments, customer SOPs, controlled operational processes, process maps/business requirements and downstream technical specifications.
- Provide process governance and challenge without assuming ownership of customer requirements, commercial commitments or operational accountabilities that remain with the business.
Leadership & Capability
- Develop BA capability, domain knowledge and succession depth.
- Coach the BA Team Leader and establish a structured succession pathway.
- Partner with Business Applications leadership on the integrated transformation roadmap.
