Job summary

Network Finance seeks a Senior Technical Sales Manager / Area Sales Manager to drive profitable sales growth across industrial automation, hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, power transmission, mining and related sectors in Randburg, South Africa.

You will develop strategic customer relationships, lead key account management, and expand market share through effective sales strategies, proposals, and product demonstrations.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering, Sales Management or related field.
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel certification.
• Sales, presentation and technical training advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
• Identify and secure new business opportunities within targeted industries.
• Manage and grow strategic key accounts.
• Conduct regular customer visits and maintain strong client relationships.
• Prepare and present technical and commercial proposals.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

Technical Sales Support

• Provide technical product recommendations and solutions.
• Assist customers with product selection and application requirements.
• Conduct product presentations, demonstrations, and training sessions.
• Promote automation, pneumatic, hydraulic, bearing, lubrication, and power transmission solutions.
• Support product launches and market development initiatives.

Strategic Planning & Reporting

• Analyse sales data and market information.
• Develop forecasts, budgets, and business plans.
• Prepare monthly sales reports and performance reviews.
• Monitor sales performance against targets and implement corrective actions where necessary.

Team Leadership & Development

• Mentor and support junior sales personnel and distributors.
• Assist in developing distributor sales strategies.
• Facilitate product and sales training programs.
• Drive a high-performance sales culture.

Minimum Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Sales Management, Business Management, or related field.
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel certification.
• Additional sales, presentation, and technical training advantageous.

Experience Requirements

• Experience in industrial technical sales.
• Experience in industrial automation, hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, and power transmission.
• Proven experience in OEM and end-user sales environments.
• Experience managing key accounts in mining, manufacturing, forestry, food & beverage, automotive, energy, and engineering sectors.
• Experience in territory and area management.
• Strong background in business development and market expansion.
