Agence Rebi Service South Africa (ARSSA) is a South Africa-based business facilitation and commercial services company supporting trade, market access and business development between South Africa, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), and the wider SADC region.
Operating from Johannesburg, ARSSA connects businesses, suppliers, strategic partners, and commercial opportunities across borders through local coordination, stakeholder engagement, and practical operational support.
Our core activities span agriculture, pharmaceuticals, and cosmetics, complemented by general commerce and mining support services. Our capabilities include market access, trade facilitation, supplier and partner sourcing, procurement coordination, business establishment support, logistics coordination, workforce solutions, and stakeholder engagement.
Our approach is execution-focused: understanding commercial requirements, identifying the appropriate stakeholders and resources, and coordinating the processes required to move opportunities forward.
Role Description
ARSSA is seeking a commercially driven business development agent from South Africa & DRC to join our Johannesburg operation.
This is a full-time, on-site role responsible for identifying, developing, and progressing B2B commercial opportunities across South Africa, the DRC, and selected SADC markets.
The successful candidate will be expected to actively build a qualified business pipeline rather than focus solely on account administration. - Generating, qualifying, and managing leads through the business development pipeline.
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with clients, suppliers, corporate decision-makers, and other strategic stakeholders.
- Preparing professional proposals, presentations, expressions of interest, capability documentation, and bid/tender submissions.
- Participating in commercial negotiations and supporting opportunities through the business development cycle.
- Coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure proposed solutions are commercially and operationally achievable.
- Representing ARSSA professionally at client meetings, industry engagements, trade missions, and other business-development activities.
- Maintaining accurate pipeline and activity records using CRM or equivalent business-management tools.
- Providing management with regular reporting on pipeline development, market intelligence, commercial risks, and emerging opportunities.
- Supporting business development across ARSSA's core and complementary divisions, including agriculture, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, general commerce, and mining support services.
- Travelling domestically and internationally from time to time for client engagements, stakeholder meetings, trade missions, site visits, and other company assignments.
Qualifications & Experience
- Relevant bachelor's degree or tertiary qualification in business, commerce, international business, international trade, marketing, international relations, supply chain, economics, or a related discipline, or demonstrable equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum 3 years' proven B2B business development experience, preferably involving client acquisition, commercial partnerships or market development.
- Demonstrated experience in lead generation, prospecting, pipeline development, and progressing commercial opportunities.
- Experience preparing or contributing to bids, tenders, proposals, and commercial presentations.
- Strong market research and commercial analysis capabilities.
- Strong negotiation, presentation, and professional communication skills.
- Ability to engage confidently and professionally with senior decision-makers and corporate stakeholders.
- Understanding of international business, cross-border trade, procurement, or regional market development is highly advantageous.
- Exposure to mining, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, international trade or related B2B sectors will be advantageous.
- Proficiency with CRM platforms, Microsoft Office or equivalent business productivity tools, and professional reporting.
- Strong written and spoken English; French is an advantage, particularly for DRC-facing engagements.
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and operate within a performance-driven commercial environment.
- Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required by the role.
- Ability to work effectively across different cultures, markets, and stakeholder environments.
