Job description

Join our vibrant team at Counterweight, a global leader in evidence-based weight loss. Our flagship Counterweight Plus programme has revolutionised the treatment of type 2 diabetes worldwide through the groundbreaking results our participants achieved in the Diabetes Remission Clinical Trial (DiRECT).

We pride ourselves on being an inclusive, friendly, and highly dedicated team. As part of this team, you'll play a crucial role in advancing our mission to make our weight management and type 2 diabetes services accessible to everyone.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical individual to help us map and optimise our operational, data and reporting processes. You will work closely with diverse colleagues to understand how our processes work today, identify business rules and edge cases, and translate these into clear requirements and functional specifications that our technical teams can implement.

Key responsibilities:
  • Working collaboratively across operational and technical teams to help turn business problems into practical solutions.
  • Mapping existing end-to-end business and data workflows to understand the current processes.
  • Designing future workflow structures that add efficiency, accuracy and automation (where appropriate).
  • Working with team members to identify business rules, validation requirements, exceptions and edge cases beyond existing documentation.
  • Translating business requirements into clear functional specifications for our technical teams.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement across Counterweight - we’re always looking for better, simpler and more scalable ways of working.
An example project would be driving improvement in reporting workflows:
  • Working with our database developer to define data validation checks and logic that can be implemented directly within PostgreSQL queries and scripts.
  • Supporting testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure new automated processes and data checks produce the expected results.
  • Comparing automated outputs against existing manual processes to ensure business requirements have been correctly implemented.
A few things we ask of you:
  • A relevant graduate-level qualification in a STEM discipline.
  • A practical understanding of databases, data workflows and how information moves between systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify gaps, inefficiencies and potential risks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to work with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a logical, structured approach to problem solving.
  • Comfortable learning new systems, processes and technical concepts.
  • 1-2 years' working as a Business Analyst, Process Analyst, Operations Analyst, or in a role involving similar responsibilities..
  • Demonstrable experience mapping processes and documenting workflows.
  • Exposure to process mapping or flowcharting tools such as Lucidchart, Miro, Visio or similar.
  • Familiarity with SQL or working with reporting / data quality processes.
  • Requirement gathering through stakeholder interviews or workshops.
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements or automation opportunities.
  • Supporting testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Working with healthcare, customer services, marketing or operational data.

We hire based on team synergy over solely skills and experience, so if you don’t have all of the necessary experience but feel you are right for the role we would love to hear from you!

We believe that having a truly diverse team where everyone can be their authentic self is the key to success. We invite candidates from all backgrounds to apply, we do not discriminate based on race, colour, religion, gender, identity, expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, marital status, disability, or age.
