Job summary

Bush Lodge near Musina is seeking a practical Camp Manager / Chef who thrives in bush hospitality. You will oversee daily operations, co-ordinate guest arrivals and ensure a welcoming, safe stay while supporting a small team.

You should be confident preparing wholesome meals, supervising housekeeping and kitchen activities, and adapting menus to guest numbers and dietary needs. The role requires hands-on problem solving, strong guest relations and willingness to assist across departments.

Qualifications

• Experience managing a camp, bush lodge, or similar operation.
• Confident in preparing wholesome, well-presented meals independently.
• Experience cooking in lodge, camp, or guesthouse environments.
• Ability to prepare a variety of home-style meals confidently.
• Understanding of dietary requirements, food storage and kitchen hygiene.
• Strong guest relations, staff supervision, and organisational skills.
• Practical, resourceful and comfortable working in a bush environment.
• Willingness to assist across departments.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily camp operations and guest experience.
• Manage and support staff across housekeeping, guest service and camp duties.
• Prepare meals and assist with cooking when required.
• Coordinate guest arrivals, departures and daily requirements.
• Monitor food, housekeeping supplies and stock.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and food hygiene standards.
• Plan menus according to guest numbers and dietary needs.
• Assist across departments as needed.
