Job summary

Dwarsrivier Chrome Mine (Pty) Ltd in Limpopo invites applications for a Boilermaker's assistant role. The successful candidate will support maintenance on mining equipment, perform welding, gas cutting and grinding tasks, and work under the Boilermaker/Direct Supervisor.

Minimum requirements include Grade 10, a Code 08 (B) driver’s license; advantageous Operative Course Certificate and up to 6 months gas cutting/welding experience.

Qualifications

• Grade 10/Standard 8 educational minimum.
• Code 08 (B) Driver’s Licence required.
• Operative Course Certificate advantageous.
• 3 months practical trade-related mining experience advantageous.
• 6 months gas cutting and welding experience advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist in ensuring availability and reliability of equipment in mine operations.
• Support maintenance on mining equipment, including modifications and repairs.
• Keep work area clean; store tools and equipment properly; ensure toolbox tools safe.
• Conduct risk assessments before tasks and perform lock-out when required.
• Work under Boilermaker/Direct Supervisor; perform welding, cutting, grinding, drilling as required.
• Follow maintenance/production schedules and ensure safe use of equipment.
• Record status of tools and equipment and hand over to Foreman; operate heavy machinery as trained.
