Job summary

EnableSA in Cape Town, South Africa, seeks an experienced Boilermaker to join their Philippi team. You will maintain and repair fixed plant and mobile equipment, and fabricate components from drawings.

The role requires 3–5 years post-trade experience, a Red Seal Boilermaker certificate, and a Code B driving licence. Welding (MIG and stick) and safety certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Boilermaker Trade Test (Red Seal) is required.
• Grade 12 or equivalent education.
• 3–5 years post-trade experience in steel manufacturing/plant maintenance.
• Experience on mobile equipment is essential.
• Welding certification preferred and standby availability.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair fixed plant equipment (conveyors, chutes, tanks, etc.).
• Maintain and repair mobile equipment (truck bodies, trailers, buckets, attachments).
• Fabricate components from engineering drawings (structural steel, brackets, frames).
• MIG and stick welding; cutting and grinding as required.
• Ensure welds meet quality standards; conduct routine inspections.
• Identify defects, lubricate equipment, and assist with planned shutdowns.
• Respond to equipment failures; maintain workshop cleanliness and tool control.

Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Boilermaker to join their Philippi, Cape Town team,

• Maintainand repair fixed plant equipment, including conveyors, chutes, hoppers, silos,crushers, screens, handrails, tanks, etc.
• Maintainand repair mobile and transport equipment, including truck bodies, trailers,skip bins, tippers, loading and excavator buckets, earthmoving andmaterial-handling attachments, waste containers, etc.
• Manufacturecomponents from engineering drawings, including structural steel, brackets,frames, guards, supports, and platforms
• Perform MIGand stick welding
• Carry outcutting and grinding activities
• Ensure allwelds meet company and engineering quality standards
• Conductroutine inspections
  
• Identifydefects before failures occur
• Lubricateequipment where required
• Assist withplanned maintenance shutdowns
• Respond toequipment failures
• Ensurecompliance with health and safety standards
• Maintainworkshop cleanliness and proper equipment storage

Requirements
