Job summary

Enablesa (Pty) Ltd is seeking an experienced Boilermaker for their Philippi, Cape Town team. The role involves maintaining and repairing fixed and mobile plant equipment, fabricating components from drawings and performing MIG/Sticking welding.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years post-trade experience, a Red Seal, and a valid Code B licence. Standby duties and safety compliance are part of the job.

Qualifications

• Must have Grade 12
• Boilermaker Trade Test (Red Seal)
• Valid driver’s licence (Code B)
• Minimum 3–5 years’ post-trade experience in steel manufacturing and plant maintenance
• Experience on mobile equipment is essential
• Welding certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair fixed plant equipment (conveyors, chutes, hoppers, silos, crushers, tanks).
• Maintain and repair mobile equipment (truck bodies, trailers, tippers, excavator buckets).
• Manufacture components from drawings (structural steel, brackets, frames).
• Perform MIG and stick welding; carry out cutting and grinding.
• Ensure welds meet quality standards; conduct routine inspections.
• Identify defects before failures and assist with planned maintenance shutdowns.

Our client is seeking an experienced Boilermaker to join their Philippi, Cape Town team,

• Maintain and repair fixed plant equipment, including conveyors, chutes, hoppers, silos, crushers, screens, handrails, tanks, etc.
  
• Maintain and repair mobile and transport equipment, including truck bodies, trailers, skip bins, tippers, loading and excavator buckets, earthmoving and material-handling attachments, waste containers, etc.
  
• Manufacture components from engineering drawings, including structural steel, brackets, frames, guards, supports, and platforms
  
• Perform MIG and stick welding
  
• Carry out cutting and grinding activities
  
• Ensure all welds meet company and engineering quality standards
  
• Conduct routine inspections
  
• Identify defects before failures occur
  
• Lubricate equipment where required
  
• Assist with planned maintenance shutdowns
  
• Respond to equipment failures
  
• Ensure compliance with health and safety standards
  
• Maintain workshop cleanliness and proper equipment storage
  

Requirements

• Grade 12
