Job summary

Goldi, part of the Astral Group, is seeking a Boiler Supervisor to oversee safe and efficient boiler operation, maintenance, and breakdown responses across all Broiler Farms. You will manage technical staff, handle electrical and mechanical tasks, and ensure compliance with safety standards.

The role requires 3+ years boiler experience, supervisory skills, and a valid driving licence. Experience on poultry farms is a plus, with opportunities across Astral Group locations.

Qualifications

• Minimum Matric or N3 qualification.
• Minimum 3 years’ boiler experience.
• Electrical and Mechanical experience.
• 2+ years supervisory experience.
• Valid driving licence.
• Able to work under pressure.
• Experience in poultry farm maintenance is an advantage.
• Must be able to work with people.

Responsibilities

• Oversee safe and efficient operation and maintenance of boiler equipment across farms.
• Attend to and resolve urgent equipment breakdowns.
• Conduct daily inspections to ensure machinery is well-maintained.
• Oversee spares and consumables to optimise stock levels.
• Guide technical staff and drive collaborative problem-solving.
• Adhere to risk management policies and safety protocols.
• Assist with fire breaks.
• Support Operational Improvement programmes.

Role Overview

Goldi, one of South Africa's leading integrated poultry producers within the Astral Group, is seeking a skilled Boiler Supervisor to oversee the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and attend to breakdowns of boiler equipment across all Broiler Farms.

Role Responsibilities

• Manage, motivate, and guide technical staff while driving collaborative problem-solving
• Hands-on on electrical a mechanical work on a daily basis.
• Attend to and resolve urgent equipment breakdowns.
• Conduct daily equipment inspections to ensure all machinery is maintained according to industry best practices.
• Oversee spares and consumable stores management to optimise stock levels and availability.
• Adhere strictly to Astral risk management policies and safety protocols.
• Assist with fire breaks.
• Implementation and maintenance of the 20 keys Operational Improvement programmes.

Required Qualification And Knowledge

• Minimum Matric or N3 qualification;
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience working on Boilers;
• Electrical and Mechanical experience;
• Have at least 2 years relevant experience on a supervisory position
• Able to work under pressure
• Experience in maintaining Poultry farms will be an added advantage;
• He must be able to work with people;
• Valid Driving licence
