Qualifications

• Matric required; PME qualification preferred or obtainable.
• At least 3 years hands-on experience in a poultry breeder operation.
• Experience in a high-throughput production environment is essential.
• Must be computer literate and prepared to work shifts.
• Hardworking, honest, self-motivated and able to work overtime when necessary.
• Ability to manage staff professionally, work independently and cope under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Manage staff attendance, performance evaluations, and conflict resolution.
• Train new team members on SOPs and line mechanics.
• Perform processing duties, maintaining quality, food hygiene and process flows.
• Monitor line speed, yield, and minimize product giveaway.
• Coordinate with maintenance for servicing and breakdowns.
• Report production metrics hourly and daily to Production Manager.
• Enforce HACCP food safety standards.
• Conduct regular quality checks on temperature, packaging and specs.
• Maintain a clean, hazard-free workspace and workplace safety.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Maintain and implement 20keys principles and Health and Safety of the department.

Role Overview

Goldi, one of South Africa's leading integrated poultry producers within the Astral Group, is seeking a high-energy, detail-oriented Team Leader to oversee the daily operations on the relevant processing line.

Role Responsibilities

• Manage staff attendance, performance evaluations, and conflict resolution and ensuring that all positions are managed at all times.
• Train new team members on standard operating procedures (SOPs) and line mechanics.
• Performing all processing related duties, including the maintaining of quality, food
• hygiene, process flows, volumes
• Interaction and communication with senior management.
• Monitor the line to ensure optimal speed, yield optimization, and minimal product giveaway.
• Coordinate with the maintenance team for scheduled servicing and breakdowns.
• Report hourly and daily production metrics to the Production Manager.
• Enforce strict HACCP food safety standards.
• Conduct regular quality checks on product specifications, temperature controls, and packaging, and ensuring efficiencies are met.
• Maintain a clean, hazard-free workspace and safety at the workplace.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications and Knowledge

• Matric;
