Job summary

Goldi, part of the Astral Group and a leading poultry producer in South Africa, seeks a Boiler Supervisor for our Standerton operations. You will oversee boiler systems, safety protocols, and maintenance across broiler farms while guiding technical staff.

The role requires boiler expertise, electrical and mechanical experience, and supervisory capability. A valid driving licence and resilience under pressure are essential for daily site duties.

Qualifications

• Matric or N3 qualification is required.
• Minimum 3 years’ boiler experience in a related role.
• Electrical and mechanical experience is essential.
• At least 2 years in a supervisory position.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage people.

Responsibilities

• Oversee boiler operations and maintenance across farms.
• Lead technical staff and drive problem-solving collaboratively.
• Respond to urgent equipment breakdowns promptly.
• Inspect daily equipment to ensure reliability and safety.
• Manage spares and consumables for stock optimization.
• Adhere to risk management and safety policies.
• Assist with fire breaks and continuous improvement programs.

Boiler Supervisor

Role Overview

Goldi, one of South Africa's leading integrated poultry producers within the Astral Group, is seeking a skilled Boiler Supervisor to oversees the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and attend to breakdowns of boiler equipment across all Broiler Farms.

Role Responsibilities:

• Manage, motivate, and guide technical staff while driving collaborative problem-solving
• Hands-on on electrical a mechanical work on a daily basis.
• Attend to and resolve urgent equipment breakdowns.
• Conduct daily equipment inspections to ensure all machinery is maintained according to industry best practices.
• Oversee spares and consumable stores management to optimise stock levels and availability.
• Adhere strictly to Astral risk management policies and safety protocols.
• Assist with fire breaks.
• Implementation and maintenance of the 20 keys Operational Improvement programmes.

Required Qualification and Knowledge:

• Minimum Matric or N3 qualification;
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience working on Boilers;
• Electrical and Mechanical experience;
• Have at least 2 years relevant experience on a supervisory position
• Able to work under pressure
• Experience in maintaining Poultry farms will be an added advantage;
• He must be able to work with people;
• Valid Driving licence
