Job summary

Greif, Inc. in Vanderbijlpark seeks a Blow Moulding Setter to operate and maintain blow moulding equipment, ensuring products meet quality standards and process controls. The role requires strict adherence to safety, accurate documentation, and timely colour changes as per shop orders.

You will work within a team focused on Lean/OPEX initiatives, tracking waste, and maintaining a clean, safe production area while supporting continuous improvement and production targets.

Qualifications

• Matric or equivalent.
• Plastics manufacturing qualification is required.
• Numeracy and literacy assessment with at least 60%.

Responsibilities

• Pack blow moulded product according to the process control document.
• Conduct quality inspections and complete documentation.
• Set machine parameters per product specifications.
• Maintain food safety protocols in the work area.
• Perform colour changes and adjust equipment as required.
• Record production outputs and assist with shop floor logging.

Job Description

Operations

• Pack blow moulded product as per the process control document.
• Carries out the required quality inspections and completes the quality documentation accordingly.
• Ensure equipment settings are as per the parameters set for each product.
• Ensure the maintaining of food safety protocols within the assigned work area.
• Perform the required colour changes on the machine as per the shop order and process control.

Education

• Matric (Grade 12) or recognized equivalent qualification.
• Plastics Manufacturing Qualification
• Numeracy, Literacy and technical aptitude assessment (60% pass mark)

Experience

• ±3 Years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Lean manufacturing experience with training in OPEX.
• Maintain accurate production and process recording.
• Tracking and reducing manufacturing waste using OPEX initiatives.
• Setting and operating blow moulding machines.

Skills

• Physical strength and stamina.
• Good eye hand coordination.
• Read, understand and complete the required documentation.
• Follow Standard Operating Procedures.

• Record production outputs on visual management boards, in daily reports and shop logix.
• Facilitating corrections to malfunctions of products with the supervisor.
• Maintains quality service by enforcing company's quality standards.
• Ensures efficient operation of equipment by calling for repairs when required.
• Maintains safe and clean work environment by the use of appropriate equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
