Job summary

The South African National Blood Service in Sandton is seeking a Nursing professional to join the Egoli Central Mobile 2 unit as a permanent role. The job focuses on collecting quality safe blood and blood products according to set targets, while ensuring donor safety, documentation, and service excellence.

You will manage donor screening, phlebotomy readiness, post-donation care, and clinic supervision duties as required, while maintaining equipment, stock, and compliance with relevant policies

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in General Nursing Sciences.
• Code B or EB Manual driver’s license.
• 2 years Registered Professional Nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Collect whole blood and apheresis units to meet assigned target.
• Assist team packing and off-loading the vehicle at the venue.
• Assist with setting up the blood drive and donor centre.
• Complete donor documentation and assessment per SOP.
• Conduct donor risk assessments and educate on high-risk behaviour.
• Provide post-donation care and reports as required.

Education

Diploma / Degree in General Nursing Sciences.
