Job summary

South African National Blood Service is seeking a dedicated nurse to support blood collection drives. You will collect whole blood and apheresis units, assist donors with registration, and conduct assessments in line with SOPs.

Responsibilities include post-donation care, donor education, and ensuring safety protocols are followed at the drive or donor centre. A nursing qualification is essential.

Qualifications

• Require a Diploma or Degree in General Nursing Sciences and valid nursing registration.
• Must hold Code B or EB manual driver’s license and be able to drive if required.

Responsibilities

• Collect whole blood and apheresis units to meet assigned targets.
• Assist with donor registration and provide guidance at the drive.
• Conduct donor assessments and document results per SOP.
• Provide post-donation care and refreshments for donors.
