Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a compassionate Behavioral Health Technician to support clients with mental health and substance use challenges, delivering direct care under licensed therapists. The role can be performed remotely through teletherapy and online support, with occasional in-person work in Upington region if required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
• Experience in mental health, addiction treatment, or related field is preferred.
• Understanding of mental health conditions, substance use disorders, and recovery principles.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and active listening skills.
• Ability to remain calm and professional in high-stress situations.
• Proficiency in using electronic health record systems and telehealth platforms.
• Empathetic and patient demeanor with a strong commitment to client advocacy.
• Ability to work independently and manage a remote caseload effectively.
• Knowledge of the challenges faced by individuals in the Northern Cape is beneficial.
• Must be able to pass a background check.

About the Role

Our client, a leading provider of mental health and addiction services, is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Behavioral Health Technician to join their expanding team. While this role is based within the service area that includes Upington, Northern Cape , our client embraces flexible working arrangements and is open to applications from candidates who can effectively serve the community remotely through teletherapy and online support. The technician will provide direct support to individuals experiencing mental health challenges and substance use disorders, assisting them in their recovery journey.
