Job summary

Phoenix Recruitment is seeking a skilled bartender for a position in Sandton. You will prepare beverages, interact with guests, and provide menu recommendations while maintaining high service standards.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of bartender experience, a passion for hospitality, and excellent communication skills to ensure a superior guest experience.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 matric or equivalent.
• 3+ years experience as a bartender preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare alcohol or non-alcohol beverages for patrons.
• Interact with customers, take orders and serve drinks.
• Assess customers' needs and preferences and make recommendations.
• Mix and prepare ingredients for cocktails.
• Plan and present bar menu.
• Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies.
• Stay guest-focused and nurture an excellent guest experience.
• Comply with food and beverage regulations and minimize losses.
• Maintain hygiene and cleanliness in bar areas.
• Check drinks presentations and temperatures for quality.
• Ensure bar and coffee stations and machines are ready for service.
• Assist management in taking bar stock.

• Maintain standards of hygiene and cleanliness in all bar areas
• Check drinks presentations and temperature to make sure of its quality
• Ensure everything in the bar is set-up and ready for service, including the coffee stations and all machines
• Assist management in taking bar stock.

Requirements

• Grade 12
• A formal qualification would be an advantage
• Preferably 3+ years previous experience as a Barman
• Passionate about the hospitality industry
• Excellent interpersonal & communication skills, written and verbal
• Strong customer service orientation with excellent people skills
• Ability to maintain a professional working relationship with all departments
