Job summary

Job Summary

The Bartender is responsible for preparing and serving a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and cocktails in accordance with established recipes, service standards, and guest expectations. The role ensures efficient and professional service while maintaining the cleanliness, organisation, and safety of the bar, including all equipment, glassware, stock, and storage areas. Responsibilities include completing daily bar inventories, sales and stock reports, requisitions, and operating equipment checks, while maintaining appropriate par levels and storage conditions for beverages and supplies. The Bartender may also perform cashiering duties, accurately process guest orders and payments, reconcile daily sales, and ensure the proper handover of cash and reports to Finance.

The role includes preparing the bar and mise-en-place before service, ensuring adequate ice, garnishes, juices, syrups, glassware, linen, and other supplies are available, and maintaining the correct temperature and storage conditions for wines and beverages. The Bartender follows established sequence-of-service standards, provides knowledgeable wine and beverage service, and uses suggestive selling techniques to enhance guest satisfaction and outlet revenue. The position also requires maintaining positive working relationships with colleagues and other departments, assisting the wider team when required, keeping up to date with beverage and cocktail trends, and supporting the overall delivery of quality service and a memorable guest experience.

Skills, Experience & Educational Requirements

• Ability to satisfactorily communicate in English with guests, co-workers and management to their understanding.
• At least vocational diploma in any discipline.
• Minimum of 1 year in hospitality business, preferably in a bartending role in a similar operation.
• Knowledgeable in various kinds of beverages and cocktails.
• Computer literate
• Pleasant personality with good communication and interpersonal skills
