About the Role

Our client, a dynamic aviation training provider with facilities in Nelspruit and other key locations, is seeking an experienced and innovative Aviation Training Manager. This role is responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of all aviation training programs, ensuring they meet regulatory requirements and industry best practices. The manager will lead a team of instructors, manage training resources, develop curricula, and ensure the highest quality of training delivery for pilots, cabin crew, and maintenance personnel. This is a pivotal leadership position within our client's training division, contributing to the professional development of aviation personnel in the Nelspruit region and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain comprehensive training programs and curricula for various aviation roles (pilots, cabin crew, maintenance technicians, ground staff).
• Oversee the delivery of training, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards (e.g., SACAA, EASA) and company policies.
• Manage and mentor a team of aviation instructors, providing guidance, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities.
• Ensure all training materials, simulators, and equipment are up-to-date, compliant, and effectively utilized.
• Conduct regular training needs analyses to identify skill gaps and develop relevant training solutions.
• Manage the training budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficient resource allocation.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies to ensure all training programs meet or exceed compliance requirements.
• Develop and implement evaluation methods to assess training effectiveness and individual competency.
• Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the training department.
• Stay current with advancements in aviation training technologies and methodologies.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Education, or a related field; an advanced degree is an advantage.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in aviation training or operations, with at least 3 years in a management or supervisory role.
• Possession of relevant aviation licenses or certifications (e.g., Pilot License, Instructor Rating, Type Rating).
• Proven experience in curriculum development, instructional design, and training delivery management.
• In-depth knowledge of aviation regulations related to training and certification.
• Strong leadership, team management, and motivational skills.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal abilities.
• Proficiency in using learning management systems (LMS) and training technologies.
• Ability to analyze training data and make informed decisions for program improvement.
• Must be eligible to work in South Africa and located in or willing to travel to Nelspruit.
