Responsabilités

• Manage and direct all flight operations personnel, including pilots, dispatchers, and operational controllers.
• Develop, implement, and maintain operational policies and procedures in line with regulatory requirements (e.g., SACAA, ICAO).
• Oversee flight planning, crew scheduling, and resource allocation to ensure optimal operational efficiency.
• Ensure strict adherence to safety management systems (SMS) and all applicable aviation safety regulations.
• Monitor flight performance, identify trends, and implement corrective actions to improve operational metrics.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities, air traffic control, and other external stakeholders.
• Manage the operational budget and control costs associated with flight operations.
• Lead incident investigations and contribute to the development of safety recommendations.

About the Role

Our client, a dynamic airline operator headquartered in Pretoria, Gauteng , is searching for a highly motivated and experienced Commercial Aircraft Operations Manager. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of flight operations, ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant execution of flight schedules. Requirements

• A valid Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) or equivalent relevant aviation qualification.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in aviation operations, with at least 5 years in a management or supervisory role.
• Comprehensive knowledge of airline operations, flight dispatch, crew resource management (CRM), and safety management systems (SMS).
• Familiarity with relevant aviation legislation and regulatory requirements in South Africa and internationally.
• Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
• Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in using flight operations software and management systems.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage complex operational challenges effectively.
• Willingness to travel occasionally and work outside standard office hours when required.
