Placements24 is seeking an experienced Aviation Safety Officer in Randburg to lead the Safety Management System (SMS) and ensure regulatory compliance across the organization. You will oversee risk assessments, investigations into incidents, and safety training while promoting a proactive safety culture.

The role requires strong analytical abilities, excellent communication, and the ability to influence safety behavior at all levels.

Qualifications

• Certified Aviation Safety Officer or equivalent with substantial experience.
• In-depth knowledge of ICAO, SA-CARS regulations and best practices.
• Experience developing and managing Safety Management Systems (SMS).
• Strong analytical, investigative, and reporting abilities.
• Excellent communication and training skills to influence safety culture in Randburg.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain the SMS per regulatory requirements.
• Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and hazard identifications.
• Lead investigations into aviation accidents and incidents with corrective actions.
• Deliver safety training programs to all employees.
• Monitor safety KPIs and report trends to senior management.
