Job summary

Placements24 in Stellenbosch, Western Cape, is seeking an Aviation Safety Officer to promote a robust safety culture. You will implement and oversee the Safety Management System, conduct risk assessments, investigate incidents, and ensure regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management or related field, at least 3 years in aviation safety, strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to deliver safety training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Safety Science, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in aviation safety or regulatory compliance.
• Knowledge of aviation safety principles, risk management, and SMS frameworks.
• Experience in incident investigation and reporting procedures.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex data.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Implement and manage the organization's SMS.
• Conduct safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
• Investigate aviation safety incidents, accidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending preventative measures.
• Develop and deliver safety training programs to employees at all levels.
• Monitor regulatory changes and ensure the organization's compliance with aviation safety standards.
• Maintain safety records and prepare regular safety performance reports.
