Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Automotive Embedded Software Engineer to join their Paarl team. You will design, develop and maintain embedded software for automotive ECUs, working on safety, connectivity and user experience across in-vehicle systems.

You will collaborate with hardware engineers, debug and test software, use C/C++, RTOS, CAN/LIN, and participate in code reviews in a hybrid office setting in the Western Cape.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, EE or related field.
• Minimum 4 years in embedded software, preferably automotive.
• Strong C/C++ programming skills.
• Experience with microcontrollers and embedded tools.
• Familiarity with CAN/LIN and RTOS.
• Knowledge of SDLC and Agile methodologies.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork.
• Ability to work in a hybrid setup.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain embedded software for automotive ECUs.
• Write efficient, well-documented C/C++ code.
• Define hardware/software interfaces and integration with hardware engineers.
• Perform debugging, unit, and integration testing.
• Participate in code reviews and process improvement.
• Develop and execute unit and integration tests; work with RTOS.
