Placements24 is seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer to lead automation and robotics initiatives in Midrand, Gauteng. The role focuses on identifying opportunities to implement robotic systems and automated processes to boost efficiency, safety and product quality within a modern manufacturing facility.

You will design, evaluate and integrate automated solutions, collaborating with cross-functional teams and external vendors.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial engineering with automation focus.
• Proven design, implementation and troubleshooting of automated manufacturing systems.
• Familiarity with PLC programming and robot programming languages.
• Understanding of MES, SCADA, and data acquisition.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and project management skills.
• Excellent communication and ability to work in a hybrid environment.
• Experience with CAD software for automation cell design is a plus.
• Knowledge of safety standards for industrial automation in Midrand, Gauteng is essential.

Responsabilidades

• Identify and evaluate opportunities for automation and robotics across production processes.
• Design and specify automated systems, including robotic work cells and conveyors.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to implement automation solutions.
• Develop project plans, budgets, and timelines for automation initiatives.
• Conduct feasibility studies and ROI analyses for proposed projects.
• Troubleshoot and support existing automated systems and robotics equipment.
• Ensure solutions comply with safety standards and operational requirements.
• Train staff on use and maintenance of automated systems.
• Stay current with robotics and manufacturing technologies.
• Support digital manufacturing strategy development and implementation.
