Job summary

Mr Price Group is seeking an Assistant Store Manager for Westgate Centre in Roodepoort, Gauteng. You will support the store manager in daily operations, focusing on stock management, customer experience and team leadership to achieve targets.

You will oversee stock handling, analyse sales data, ensure compliance and drive training and performance. A Grade 12 and 2–3 years supervisory experience are preferred; MS Office proficiency is expected.

Responsibilities

• Stock management: ensure stock is received, unpacked, merchandised and replenished.
• Monitor stock levels and mitigate stock loss; maintain stock on hand.
• Oversee stockroom housekeeping.
• Authorise write offs, breakages, recalls and returns.
• Analyse sales & profitability reports to increase sales and monitor store expenditure.
• Review in-store product performance and provide feedback to the support centre.
• Identify opportunities to increase sales and brand awareness.
• Conduct compliance checks to ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
• Customer experience: ensure and maintain customer service processes to meet standards.
• Lead and develop the team to achieve KPIs and implement training and succession plans.
• Recruit, administer and manage performance per company policies.

Job Description

Support the store manager in managing the daily operations of a store to ensure that the overall objectives, store targets and customer service standards are met and exceeded.

Responsibilities

Stock Management:

• Ensure that stock is accurately received & unpacked to merchandise and replenish the sales floor.
• Monitor and manage stock levels through defined processes to mitigate risks (stock loss) and ensure adequate stock on hand.
• Oversee the overall maintenance of the stockroom to meet housekeeping standards.
• Authorise write offs, breakages, recalls and returns.
• Analyse sales & profitability reports in store to collaborate with management on required operational action plans, increase sales performance and monitor store expenditure.
• Review and keep abreast of in-store product performance to provide feedback to support centre and enhance sales.
• Identify and propose new opportunities to increase sales and brand awareness.
• Conduct compliance checks through defined processes to ensure and enforce overall compliance to policies and procedures.

Customer Experience Management:

• Ensure and maintain the implementation of customer experience processes to meet customer service standards.

Leadership & Development:

• Lead and drive the team within a store to achieve store KPIs and operational strategy in line with company values.
• Identify & drive training, coaching and development needs with a focus on talent management and succession planning.
• Recruit, administer & manage performance in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Grade: 12.
• 2 to 3 Years' Experience in a Supervisory/Assistant Store Management capacity.
