Job summary

Mr Price Group in Roodepoort, Gauteng, South Africa, is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support the store manager in daily operations, achieve targets and uphold customer service standards. You will manage stock reception, shelf replenishment, stockroom housekeeping, and authorise write-offs and returns, while monitoring stock levels and store loss risks.

Lead and develop a team to meet KPIs and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 qualification.
• 2 to 3 years' supervisory/assistant store management experience.

Responsibilities

• Stock Management: Ensure stock is accurately received, unpacked and replenished on the sales floor.
• Stock Management: Monitor stock levels to mitigate loss and ensure adequate on-hand stock.
• Stock Management: Oversee stockroom housekeeping and authorise write-offs, breakages, recalls and returns.
• Stock Management: Analyse sales & profitability reports to plan actions, increase sales and monitor store expenditure.
• Stock Management: Review in-store product performance and provide feedback to support centre.
• Stock Management: Identify opportunities to increase sales and brand awareness.
• Compliance: Conduct compliance checks to ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
• Customer Experience Management: Ensure and maintain the implementation of customer experience processes to meet standards.
• Leadership & Development: Lead and drive the team to achieve KPIs and develop talent, including coaching and succession planning.

Job Description

Support the store manager in managing the daily operations of a store to ensure that the overall objectives, store targets and customer service standards are met and exceeded.

Responsibilities

Stock Management:

• Ensure that stock is accurately received & unpacked to merchandise and replenish the sales floor.
• Monitor and manage stock levels through defined processes to mitigate risks (stock loss) and ensure adequate stock on hand.
• Oversee the overall maintenance of the stockroom to meet housekeeping standards.
• Authorise write offs, breakages, recalls and returns.
• Analyse sales & profitability reports in store to collaborate with management on required operational action plans, increase sales performance and monitor store expenditure.
• Review and keep abreast of in-store product performance to provide feedback to support centre and enhance sales.
• Identify and propose new opportunities to increase sales and brand awareness.
• Conduct compliance checks through defined processes to ensure and enforce overall compliance to policies and procedures.

Customer Experience Management:

• Ensure and maintain the implementation of customer experience processes to meet customer service standards.

Leadership & Development:

• Lead and drive the team within a store to achieve store KPIs and operational strategy in line with company values.
• Identify & drive training, coaching and development needs with a focus on talent management and succession planning.
• Recruit, administer & manage performance in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Grade: 12.
• 2 to 3 Years' Experience in a Supervisory/Assistant Store Management capacity.
