Job summary

iKhokha is seeking an Assistant Store Manager for Gugulethu to lead daily store operations, drive sales, and energise the team. You will support the Store Manager, manage stock, and ensure an engaging merchant experience for customers.

The role requires retail experience, strong communication, and the ability to coach junior staff while meeting targets. Hybrid, remote, and in-office options are available, with competitive remuneration and benefits.

Qualifications

• Cold calling experience with ability to convert cold and warm leads.
• Experience driving sales and revenue in a retail or store environment.
• Ability to manage stock and assist with stock control processes.
• Strong communication skills and customer service focus.
• Familiarity with CRM systems, preferably HubSpot.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager with daily store operations and leadership in their absence.
• Drive monthly sales and activation metrics while supporting field sales teams.
• Open/close store according to trading hours and ensure in-store experiences are engaging.
• Oversee stock management, received and dispatch of stock, and cycle counts.
• Provide weekly/monthly store performance updates to stakeholders.

Job Description

So, what will you do?

• You will be responsible for assisting with the management of an iKStore with full ownership and accountability when the Store Manager is not on site.
• You will also be accountable for driving monthly sales, activation ratio’s, staff route planning for outbound activities, proactively creating revenue-generating opportunities in line with iKhokha performance goals.
• You willbe opening & closing the store with adherence to trading times according to iKStoreoperating hours and assisting in creating efficient and delightful merchant instore experiences.
• You will actas an immediate support to sales agents within the iKStore network.
• You will oversee thestock management processes within the iKStore.

In addition to the above, you will:

• Be accountable for the performance of agents based in the designated store and dialling leads generated in field for conversion as well as driving sales.
• Assist with traction on store ratings online and providing great customer service.
• Provide In-field supervision of the sales agent as well as train and coach field & in-store agents.
• Adherence to store operating hours.
• Provide assistanceon inprofile creations for merchants and conduct check-ins with merchants previously visited by agents.
• Monitor productivity of staff daily as per company requirement and management of time and attendance.
• Assisting with stock management by receiving and dispatching stock as well as weekly stock takes and cycle counting.
• Basic understanding of POS systems for stock management and management of store asset registers.
• Report back to internal stakeholders weekly and monthly on store performance.
• Report to the Store manager daily regarding feedback on general in-store activity.
• Reporting to logistics/finance on any stock queries.
• Report in required market insights within the designated area.

Qualifications

• National Senior Certificate (Matric) is required.

Deal Breakers:

Minimum 1 year field or retail experience, ideallyin an Assistant Store Manager or similar role with the following:

• Cold calling sales experiencewith the ability to convert cold and warm leads gathered by sales staff.
• Proficiency in MS Office, specifically Word, Outlook, andExcel, as well as experience in CRM systems, preferably Hubspot.
• An understanding of retail and branch operating dynamics.
• Basic understanding of logistics processes and best practice of managing stock inflows and outflows.
• Strong skills in professional communication over the phone as well as strong commercial skills and business acumen, with the ability to execute against sales and customer service targets.
• Strong interpersonal and people management skills with proven ability to coach and energise salespeople in the branch environment.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to speak both English and vernacular language within designated store.
