Job summary

Pro-Match Recruitment invites applications for a Warehouse Stock Controller/Assistant Manager in Gauteng. You will support stock management, rebates/IRS processes, POS and cash handling, and wholesale/retail distribution operations, while supervising staff.

Job description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Stock Management & Stock Takes

• Assist with receiving, issuing and controlling stock.
• Conduct and oversee regular stock counts and full stock takes.
• Investigate stock discrepancies, shortages and variances.
• Monitor stock movement, damages, returns and shrinkage.
• Ensure accurate stock records are maintained on the relevant systems.

Rebates / IRS

• Understand and administer supplier rebate and IRS processes applicable to the liquor industry.
• Assist with tracking rebate agreements, claims, promotional deals and supporting documentation.
• Verify purchases and sales against applicable rebate structures.
• Identify discrepancies and follow up on outstanding rebate claims and credits.

POS & Cash Management

• Work confidently with Point of Sale (POS) systems.
• Oversee daily cash-up procedures and reconciliation of tills.
• Investigate cash-up discrepancies and POS variances.
• Ensure cash-handling procedures and internal controls are followed.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures.

Wholesale, Retail & Distribution Operations

• Assist the Manager with the daily running of the business.
• Coordinate stock movement between receiving, warehouse, retail/wholesale and dispatch.
• Ensure customer orders are processed accurately and efficiently.
• Assist with delivery and distribution planning where required.
• Maintain high standards of operational control and customer service.

Staff Supervision

• Assist with supervising and coordinating staff.
• Allocate daily duties and monitor productivity.
• Ensure employees comply with company procedures and operational standards.
• Assist with staff scheduling and daily operational requirements.
• Report operational and disciplinary concerns to management.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Matric / Grade 12.
• Minimum 3 years' relevant experience within liquor wholesale, retail or distribution.
• Previous supervisory or Assistant Manager experience.
• Practical experience with liquor industry rebates and/or IRS.
• Strong stock control and stock-taking experience.
• Experience with cash-ups and cash reconciliation.
• Working knowledge of POS systems.
• Computer literate, including Microsoft Excel.
• Experience working in a high-volume stock environment.
• Willing and able to work 6 days per week.
