Job summary

Mr Price Group Careers is seeking an Assistant HR Manager at our Head Office in South Africa. You will act as a key second-in-command to the HR Manager, handling day-to-day HR administration, compliance, and providing operational backup to Payroll and HR Generalist functions.

With at least 5 years as an HR Generalist and hands-on payroll experience, you will manage recruitment, EE planning, and policy updates while upholding SA employment laws.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years in an HR Generalist role.
• Hands-on payroll processing experience is essential.
• Practical knowledge of SA employment legislation, EE and Skills Development.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and HR systems.
• Experience in retail or multi-site environments is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Industrial relations guidance for line management and documentation.
• Oversee end-to-end recruitment and onboarding processes.
• Assist EE planning, EE committee coordination and BBBEE verification documentation.
• Maintain employee records, track probation and leave, update HR policies, and prepare monthly reports.
• Payroll backup: process and verify monthly payroll, deductions, overtime, leave, and reconciliations.
• Support Health & Safety training records and audit preparations.
