Job summary

Village n Life in Camps Bay, Cape Town is seeking an Assistant Hotel Manager to support daily operations across front of house, Rooms Division and F&B, balancing hands-on leadership with hosting excellence to ensure memorable guest experiences.

Working with the Hotel Manager, you’ll mentor junior managers, uphold our service culture, and lead teams through shifts and VIP stays while maintaining brand standards and high operational performance.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years’ experience in luxury hotel operations.
• Background in F&B or Rooms Division advantageous.
• Opera Cloud and Micros/Simphony POS experience beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily front of house, housekeeping and F&B operations.
• Support the Hotel Manager in driving guest satisfaction and operational excellence.
• Lead and motivate teams to deliver confident, attentive service.
• Act as lead host during key interactions, events and VIP stays.
• Maintain a visible presence throughout the property, engaging with guests.
• Conduct pre-arrival checks to ensure readiness and presentation standards.
• Resolve guest feedback promptly and professionally.
• Mentor junior leaders and foster interdepartmental collaboration.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety and hygiene standards.
• Support staff development, rostering and performance management.
• Uphold brand and property standards across all operations.
