Job summary

Premier FMCG is seeking an Assistant Export Co-ordinator to support compliant export operations from MIDRAND, South Africa. The role involves coordinating HS codes, pre-shipment inspections, and pre-export verifications while ensuring customs compliance and accurate documentation.

You will work closely with the food safety and regulatory teams to meet country-specific requirements and support global expansion goals.

Qualifications

• Export and customs clearance coordination experience (4–6 years)
• Administrative skills with strong data entry
• B-Tech Degree in Administration and/or Supply Chain Management required

Job Purpose

To support the smooth and compliant execution of export operations, fostering coaction between various cross-functional intercompany departments to ensure compliant export transactions, supporting the coordination of the movement of goods to various countries in accordance with specific country regulations, and providing valuable support and assistance with departmental administrative tasks. This role significantly contributes to the Premiers global expansion, profitability, and adherence to international trade regulations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Ensuring accurate Harmonised System Code Application to ensure smooth customs processes and minimise delays by correctly identifying traded products by:

• Applying accurate Harmonised System Codes to identify products, facilitating customs clearance and rate of duty determination where applicable.

2.Facilitating Pre-shipment Inspections to comply with regulatory requirements and ensure product quality, safety, and adherence to country-specific standards by:

• Coordinating pre-shipment inspections with government regulators and verification entities for compliance and quality assurance.

3.Streamlining Pre-export Verification of Conformity to prevent export disruptions and ensure products meet country-specific compliance standards by:

• Organising pre-export verification of conformity applications tailored to each country's parameters and compliance requirements.

4.Ensuring Customs Compliance and Documentation to avoid legal complications and customs delays while ensuring adherence to customs rules by:

• Collaborating with clearing agents to prepare and submit customs documentation in compliance with Customs and Excise Act, 1964.
• Staying informed about customs rules and monitor agent compliance.

5.Ensuring efficient Customer Order Processing to enhance customer satisfaction and meet order fulfilment expectations, by:

• Processing customer orders accurately and efficiently in coordination with the Exports Coordinator.
• Gathering necessary documents from the food safety department to meet customer and regulatory requirements

6.Effective Export Proof of Delivery (POD) Management to ensure transparency, compliance, and efficient auditing, by:

• Managing export Proof of Delivery (POD) documents meticulously for legal, auditing and compliance purposes.
• Ensuring the availability of complete documents for justifying zero-rated exports and VAT Act compliance.

7.Adhering to Export SOPs to maintain consistency and efficiency in export operations, by:

Strictly adhering to Export-specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to facilitate timely and effective consignment execution.

8.Maintaining Accurate Product Master to prevent errors and delays in customs submissions and ensure data accuracy, by:

Maintaining and updating the product master in the Process Assist system connected to SARS with precise product data, including weights, HS codes, country of origin, descriptions, and internal product codes.

9.Facilitating PHYTO Sanitary Certificates Issuance to enable the export of plant-based products by ensuring compliance with sanitary regulations by:

• Supporting the application process for PHYTO sanitary certificates required for plant-based exports, collaborating with the Department of Agriculture.
