Job summary

RPO Recruitment’s client, a leading materials and infrastructure company, seeks an experienced Asphalt Branch Manager to oversee the Bloemfontein production facility, ensuring safe and efficient operations and high-quality outputs.

You will lead production, maintenance and logistics teams, drive budget control, and foster strong customer relationships while promoting a safety- and performance-driven culture.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Additional business or operations management qualification advantageous.
• 8–10 years’ manufacturing/production experience with at least 3 years in a management role.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day plant operations to ensure efficient, high-quality asphalt production.
• Drive continuous improvement of production systems, processes, and operational policies.
• Oversee preventative and corrective maintenance programmes to maximise plant uptime.
• Ensure effective spares control, inventory management, and logistics coordination.
• Plan production in line with sales forecasts and customer demand.
• Support budgeting, cost control, and operational performance tracking.
