Job description

We are seeking an API Gateway & Middleware Specialist to design, implement, and maintain middleware solutions and API gateway configurations that support Payments, Investor Services, Trade, Pricing & Billing, and Liquidity Management systems. This role ensures seamless communication between systems, secure data flow, and optimized integration performance, enabling efficient and reliable business processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and manage API gateways and middleware solutions for internal systems and third-party integrations.
• Ensure secure, scalable, and high-performance API traffic management.
• Implement authentication, authorization, and traffic policies (OAuth, JWT, API keys, rate limiting).
• Troubleshoot and resolve middleware, integration, and API gateway issues.
• Collaborate with backend, frontend, and business teams to support Payments, Investor Services, Trade, Pricing & Billing, and Liquidity Management workflows.
• Maintain middleware and API gateway documentation, best practices, and governance policies.
• Participate in Agile development processes, sprint planning, and code reviews.
• Mentor junior specialists and provide guidance on complex integration and API management challenges (senior-level).

Experience & Qualifications

Mid-Level (4–7 years of relevant experience):

• Hands-on experience with API gateway technologies (e.g., Apigee, Kong, AWS API Gateway, MuleSoft).
• Strong knowledge of middleware platforms, integration patterns, and messaging systems (e.g., JMS, Kafka).
• Understanding of Payments, Investor Services, Trade, Pricing & Billing, or Liquidity Management domains.
• Ability to configure and manage policies, monitor traffic, and troubleshoot integration issues.
• Contributes to documentation, process improvements, and operational excellence.

Senior-Level (7+ years of relevant experience):

• Deep expertise in API gateway architecture, middleware solutions, and enterprise integration patterns.
• Broad knowledge across financial services domains including Payments, Investor Services, Trade, Pricing & Billing, and Liquidity Management.
• Proven experience in leading integration strategy, defining best practices, and mentoring teams.
• Experience designing secure, scalable, and high-performance API/middleware solutions.
• Acts as an escalation point for complex integration challenges and drives enterprise-level improvements.
