Job summary

DeARX in Sandton, South Africa, is seeking a Senior Middleware Developer with deep Java Spring Boot expertise to design, build, and support enterprise integration solutions. You will work on REST and SOAP services, IBM WebSphere, and modern DevOps practices in a banking environment.

You’ll collaborate with architects, analysts, and infrastructure teams to deliver reliable, secure middleware that scales in Linux/Unix environments. Minimum five years in middleware is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' middleware development experience.
• Strong Java Spring Boot development experience is required.
• Experience with IBM WebSphere AS/WLP and middleware integration.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and support enterprise middleware solutions using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build and maintain RESTful and SOAP-based APIs.
• Configure and optimise IBM WebSphere WAS/WLP.
• Develop integrations using IBM DataPower, API Connect and BAW.
• Ensure middleware is highly available, scalable and performant on Linux/Unix.
• Manage SQL Server databases supporting middleware applications.
• Containerise applications with Docker.
• Support CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps.
• Produce technical documentation using Jira and Confluence.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement long-term fixes.
• Collaborate with developers, architects, analysts and infrastructure teams.

• Design, develop and support enterprise middleware solutions using Java and Spring Boot


• Build and maintain RESTful and SOAP-based APIs


• Configure, administer and optimise IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS) and WebSphere Liberty Profile (WLP)


• Develop secure integrations using IBM DataPower, API Connect, and Business Automation Workflow (BAW)


• Ensure middleware applications are highly available, scalable and performant within Linux/Unix environments


• Manage and optimise SQL Server databases supporting middleware applications


• Containerise applications using Docker


• Support CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps


• Produce technical documentation using Jira and Confluence


• Troubleshoot production issues and implement long-term solutions
