We are looking for an API Developer to design, develop, and maintain robust APIs that connect internal systems and client-facing applications in Payments, Investor Services, Trade, Pricing & Billing, and Liquidity Management. The role focuses on creating secure, scalable, and high-performance APIs to enable seamless data exchange, integration with third-party services, and efficient business workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain RESTful and/or SOAP APIs to support internal and external systems.
• Integrate backend services with front-end applications and third-party platforms.
• Collaborate with business analysts, operations, and development teams to translate requirements into API solutions.
• Ensure API performance, security, and scalability according to best practices.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve integration and connectivity issues.
• Maintain API documentation and ensure adherence to standards and governance policies.
• Participate in Agile development processes, sprint planning, and code reviews.
• Mentor junior developers and provide guidance on complex API and integration challenges (senior-level).

Experience & Qualifications

Mid-Level (4–7 years of relevant experience):

• Strong experience in designing and developing APIs using Java, Node.js, or similar backend technologies.
• Knowledge of Payments, Investor Services, Trade, Pricing & Billing, or Liquidity Management processes.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, JSON/XML data formats, authentication protocols (OAuth, JWT), and integration tools.
• Ability to deliver API endpoints independently and troubleshoot integration issues.
• Contributes to documentation, testing, and API process improvements.

Senior-Level (7+ years of relevant experience):

• Deep expertise in API architecture, design patterns, and secure integration practices.
• Broad knowledge across financial services domains, including Payments, Trade, Investor Services, and Liquidity Management.
• Experience leading API design, integration strategy, and mentoring development teams.
• Proven ability to drive technical standards, optimize performance, and solve complex integration challenges.
• Acts as an escalation point for complex API issues and drives enterprise-level integration improvements.
