Placements24 is seeking an Airport Operations Controller for a key client in Bloemfontein. This role oversees daily airport activities, coordinating with airlines, ATC, security, and ground handling to ensure safe, efficient operations.

You will manage real-time situations, make rapid decisions, and communicate under pressure, ensuring smooth gate assignments, stand utilization, and resource allocation at Bloemfontein airport.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in airport operations, air traffic control, airline operations, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of airport operations, aviation regulations, and safety protocols.
• Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills, particularly in high-pressure situations.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effective coordination with diverse stakeholders.
• Proficiency in using airport operational management software and systems.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage all airport operational activities in real-time, including flight movements, gate assignments, and ground handling services.
• Coordinate with Air Traffic Control, airlines, security, and emergency services to ensure seamless operations and respond to any disruptions or emergencies.
• Implement and enforce airport operational procedures and policies.
• Prepare operational reports, analyze performance metrics, and identify areas for improvement.
• Manage the allocation and utilization of airport resources, such as stands, gates, and check-in counters.
• Act as a primary liaison for airlines and other airport users regarding operational matters.
