Airports Company South Africa (ACSA) at OR Tambo International Airport is seeking Fire Fighter I professionals for five vacancies. The role focuses on maintaining readiness, operating fire and rescue equipment, and complying with aviation safety standards.

Post holders will conduct inspections, respond to incidents, and participate in mandated aviation training. Candidates must meet essential qualifications and be eligible for security clearances as required by airport operations.

Qualificações

• Grade 12 and Fire Fighter I certification are essential requirements.
• Hazmat Awareness is essential for national and airport operations.
• BAA/First Aid Level III certification is essential for safety and medical readiness.
• Aircraft Construction knowledge is essential for operating specialised rescue equipment.
• PARTAC certification is essential for airport fire and rescue operations.
• Control and Watch room experience is essential for incident coordination and reporting.
• Runway Inspection proficiency is essential for runway safety and compliance.
• Fire Fighting and Rescue experience (6 months) is essential for operational capacity.

Responsabilidades

• Maintain operational readiness of resources including vehicles, equipment and infrastructure.
• Operate fire fighting and rescue equipment and tools.
• Conduct routine inspections and report defects.
• Adhere to SOPs, policies and SLAs to ensure business continuity.
• Activate and respond to incidents within jurisdiction and training scope.
• Conduct emergency standbys to prevent incidents and accidents.
• Analyse, monitor and report non-compliance areas (HIRA).
• Perform runway, taxiway and apron inspections and notify ATC if needed.
• Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
