Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a qualified Aircraft Line Maintenance Technician to join our Upington-based team at the airport. You will perform scheduled line maintenance checks, diagnose defects, and carry out repairs to ensure aircraft readiness for flight operations.

The ideal candidate holds a valid AME license (CAT A/B1/B2) with relevant ratings, and has at least 2 years of line maintenance experience. You will work in a fast-paced environment with varying shifts to support airport operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled line maintenance checks (A-checks) and routine servicing of aircraft.
• Diagnose and rectify defects on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, avionic systems.
• Carry out component replacements and minor repairs as required by maintenance program.
• Ensure maintenance work complies with instructions, procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Document all maintenance in the aircraft technical log accurately.
• Respond promptly to AOG situations and operational disruptions.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a qualified and experienced Aircraft Line Maintenance Technician to join their dynamic team at Upington airport. This role is responsible for performing scheduled line maintenance tasks, defect rectification, and servicing of aircraft on the ground to ensure they are ready for flight operations. You will work on a variety of aircraft types, performing checks, troubleshooting issues, and carrying out necessary repairs according to approved maintenance data. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, technically proficient, and able to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced airport environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled line maintenance checks (e.g., A-checks) and routine servicing of aircraft.
• Diagnose and rectify defects on aircraft systems (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, avionic) during line operations.
• Carry out component replacements and minor repairs as required by maintenance program.
• Ensure all maintenance activities are performed in compliance with manufacturer's instructions, company procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Accurately document all maintenance performed, including defects found and work carried out, in the aircraft technical log.
• Respond promptly to operational disruptions and aircraft on ground (AOG) situations.

Requirements

• Valid Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) license with appropriate ratings for line maintenance (e.g., CAT A, B1/B2).
