Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled Aircraft Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Technician to join the operations team in Rustenburg. You will maintain, repair, and troubleshoot a variety of GSE from baggage tugs to lifting equipment, ensuring aircraft turnarounds run smoothly.

You will work hands-on in a crucial aviation hub, with responsibilities spanning inspections, safety testing, and documentation to keep the fleet ready for service.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a technician, preferably maintaining heavy machinery or ground support equipment (GSE).
• Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Knowledge of safety procedures related to GSE operation and maintenance.
• Valid driver's license and ability to obtain airport permits.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on all types of aircraft ground support equipment.
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults in GSE.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, parts inventory, and service schedules.
• Ensure all GSE operates safely and efficiently in compliance with standards.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and minimize downtime to support flight schedules.
• Operate and test repaired equipment to confirm functionality and safety.
