Job summary

Placements24 seeks a skilled Aircraft Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Technician in Paarl to ensure the readiness of essential ground machinery. You will diagnose, service, repair, and overhaul GSE such as tugs, baggage carts, belt loaders, and power units to keep airport operations running safely and efficiently.

The role requires hands-on mechanical aptitude, experience with heavy equipment, and a commitment to safety.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a mechanic or technician, with heavy equipment or GSE maintenance.
• Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to operate and maintain a variety of tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Knowledge of safety procedures related to GSE operation and maintenance.
• Valid driver's license with willingness to obtain endorsements.
• Must be able to work outdoors in Paarl.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on all types of GSE.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues using appropriate tools and testing equipment.
• Conduct major overhauls and component replacements on GSE fleet.
• Ensure all GSE maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and company procedures.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and inventory of spare parts for GSE.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and ensure timely repairs to minimize operational impact.
