Placements24 is recruiting an Aircraft Ground Operations Supervisor for our East London facility. The role oversees the ground handling team, coordinates turnaround activities, and ensures safe, efficient operations in a busy airport environment.

The ideal candidate has supervisory experience in ground/airport operations, strong leadership, and thorough knowledge of safety regulations. You'll work with flight crews, dispatch, and ATC to keep schedules on track and maintain high safety standards.

About the Role

Our client is looking for a proactive and organized Aircraft Ground Operations Supervisor to manage and coordinate all ground handling activities at their East London facility. This role is essential for ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely turnaround of aircraft. You will lead a team of ground crew, oversee the provision of ground support equipment, and liaise with flight crews, air traffic control, and other stakeholders. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, a comprehensive understanding of ground operations procedures, and a commitment to maintaining the highest safety standards in a fast-paced airport environment.

Key Responsibilities Supervise and direct the daily activities of ground operations staff, ensuring adherence to safety and operational procedures. Coordinate aircraft turnaround processes, including baggage handling, cargo loading, fueling, and catering. Ensure the safe and efficient operation of ground support equipment (GSE). Liaise with flight crews, dispatch, and air traffic control to manage flight schedules and resolve operational issues. Conduct regular safety briefings and inspections of the ramp area. Maintain accurate records of ground operations activities and performance metrics. Requirements Proven experience in aircraft ground operations or airport operations, with supervisory experience highly preferred. Strong knowledge of aircraft ground handling procedures, safety regulations, and airport operations. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Familiarity with GSE maintenance and operation. A strong commitment to safety and operational excellence.
